Overview Privacy Training

 If you use information about people in your job, then you need to know about your privacy obligations!

This one-day Workshop provides intensive training on privacy laws affecting NGO organisations. The course equips participants with a detailed understanding of:

·   privacy laws and how they apply to NGO entities;
·   how to identify and manage privacy compliance issues;
·   laws that are of particular relevance to not-for-profits;
·   how the laws apply specifically in the context of not-for- profits;

The course includes an overview of the scope and nature of changes the Government is currently considering making to the Privacy Act (following the ALRC review of privacy laws).

Facilitator Profile

Jeremy Douglas-Stewart has been Principal Consultant at Privacy Law Consulting Australia since 2003. Jeremy was a member of the Privacy Commissioner's Consultative Group during his review of the Privacy Act in 2004-05 and of the Australian Law Reform Commission's Privacy Principles Roundtable in 2007. Jeremy is author of a national privacy law loose-leaf reporting service.
