NORTHERN SYDNEY HOME AND COMMUNITY CARE (HACC) VOLUNTEER RESOURCE PROJECT
The Northern Sydney Home and Community Care (HACC) Volunteer Resource Project is auspiced by Northside Community Forum Inc. and covers eleven local government areas of Hornsby, Hunters Hill, Ku-ring-gai, Lane Cove, Manly, Mosman, North Sydney, Pittwater, Ryde, Warringah, Willoughby.
The Volunteer Resource Project works in conjunction with the sub regional Volunteer Service agencies as well as other HACC agencies in Northern Sydney in relation to connection, promotion, capacity building and strategic initiatives in respect of volunteering.
In particular the Volunteer Resource Project plans, develops, implements, and coordinates regional strategies to promote volunteering in a HACC context in collaboration with local volunteer services. Connects people with volunteer opportunities to include the collation of data from local services. Builds capacity in volunteering by assisting 4 local volunteer services to respond to local training needs and specific training for volunteers. Facilitates the implementation of standardised systems and processes across all 4 local volunteer services to track, train, manage and retain volunteers. In conjunction with the HACC Development Project provides training to volunteers and volunteer co-ordinators. Develops strategic initiatives by networking with external stakeholders, councils, government departments, the Minister for Volunteering, Volunteering Australia and the Centre for Volunteering. Promotes cross-regional communication through facilitation of meetings with local services in Northern Sydney. Maintains knowledge of current issues, gaps and trends in volunteering. Investigates analyses and responds to issues and trends in volunteering. Performs community liaison and outreach activities for the project to include event management. Conducts research and markets projects in respect of volunteering.
